Scarlletta
Formed in London in the Summer of 2010 Scarlletta is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with. The band's 'dirty pop rock' influenced by the likes of Transvision Vamp, Siouxsie Sue and Blondie ties together the classic 70s punk power of female fronted bands with the catchy synth orientated music of today.
Scarlletta writes anthemic songs with hooks that one could hear stadiums singing. Their mission is simple: to bring live music, played by live musicians back into the UK charts. The band's lyrics show a fresh and slightly comical perspective of the modern female. In Do It Better Scarlletta sings 'Constantly dissatisfied/ Never makes me scream for more/ Why can't he do it right?/ Maybe he don't care at all!' describing being sexually frustrated in a relationship. In Not A Man You're A Mess the band's lead singer writes about being the 'mother' in a relationship weighed down by drugs and emotional abuse. There are no love songs, no ballads, no cliches just a female writing toplines about her predicament.
The band's music is colourful, bright and energetic, mixing dark lyrical content with upbeat four on the floor synth rock. Scarlletta embodies her music on stage with her colourful wigs, bright costumes and energetic presence. She promises to have the audience dancing and delivers each and every time.
Scarlletta represented the UK last February in The Global Battle of the Bands and were flown to Malaysia to perform and compete against sixteen other bands from all over the world. They also flew to New York in October this year to take part in the CMJ showcases.
The band were featured on Sky 1s Must Be The Music and Louie Spence's Showbusiness in late 2010. The lead singer is to be featured on hit TV show The Voice early next year.
